Planted Tank Filter Media

I have been doing some reading and it seems that using carbon in a canister filter is not desirable.

I am going to be running a Magnum 350, what does everyone recommend as a filter media.

Yea I've given up on chemical filtration. Focus on biological & mechanical filtration.

the micro filter and then some sort of biological media, I personally use Seachem Matrix in place of other biological media types.

If you can keep your CO2 levels up, a biowheel is nice, but the water surface movement WILL allow the CO2 to escape at a much higher rate than a still surface.
