So, I've been wanting some more cleaner shrimp, pretty much from the time my last pair died. Actually, maybe before.

There was think hawkfish, then this misunderstanding...

Anyway, I was in a pet store up the road yesterday, waiting for my wife to have her eyebrows burned off, or whatever girls do in such places, and I saw they had 2 of them.

I asked for a price, and was told to hold on while the girl went to ask.

She came back and said, '$10.99'.

I bought both. I couldn't believe it. I think there was a miscommunication somewhere, as I've never even heard of them for remotely close to that price.

I spent about 4 hrs changing their salinity from 1.021 to 1.025 and they're now hanging out in the back of my rock work.

Anyway, I'm excited.

Hoooray! ;)

Right now they're in hiding. I can see antenna, so I know they're just hanging out back there, but they aren't coming out for the camera just yet..;)

That is a 50% discount on the average price here!

Great price, its very unusual to see cleaner shrimp go for less than $17 here. However I do know a wholesaler in my area that sells them for $10. Those always go very fast.

I can't wait to see some pictures.

It depends on the types of cleaners here.. Skunk cleaners normally go for like 35 bucks..

Yeah, normally round $30 here too. I think someone messed up on the price...but I'm not complaining. ;)

Knowing what I know about prices in my area I just couldn't do it.. I'd have to double check at the register to make sure someone wasn't making a mistake like that..

Hope these guys make it..

Actually, it was the owner of the store who told the girl the price.

Which was why I got so excited. Not just your normal 'new kid got the price wrong'.

Maybe he just wanted to move them...I don't know...actually, I don't care...I'm just happy I got me some shrimps!

Congratulations...that is an outstanding price. And I had to laugh, mine hid out in the back of the LR for about a month or so. Now it is all over the tank - think it just wanted to know it wouldn't be eaten by anyone before venturing out. Can't wait to see the pics------CPD is right, new aquisitions require new pics.

Yeah, he really is.

I've really been missing some shrimp. They're like coral..only with neater antenna. ;)

My cleaners are much loved as well. I want a fire shrimp as well but they are a bit pricey while I'm still wanting other things.

sweet pair of cleaners man. i have a fire/blood shrimp myself, and he gives me a lot of entertianment. he was very shy for about the first 3 weeks, but now he is pretty outgoing and moves about the tank. it's pretty funny, actually, because he and my serpent star have become pretty good friends and always share the same hideout spot. and what's even funner is that i often see the shrimp hitching rides on the star's back when he's moving about the tank. i wish i could get it on film for you guys, it's pretty funny.

Mine are pretty much on top of one another constantly. They have no interest in fish, only one another...probably why they always have fertilized eggs.

Same with mine. I think the only time they're apart is when they need to molt!!!!
