Heyya folks. I noticed this on my Oceanic 30 gallon the other day. The tank bows out ever so slightly on both side, probably less than a 1/16" total for both sides. I asked I guy I work with who's been in the hobby longer than I've been alive and he said it's not a problem, as is what my dad said, who used to be a machinist. Now that I looked at it, the 55 always bows out, though not quite as much, which I'm assuming is a product of the center brace. Anyways, any thoughts on this? Should I be flipping out, or is that much water bound to push out a bit? Thanks alot.

30 Gallons doesn't seem like it would be that bad...you may want to wait for RTR to get you a response though.
Our 30-gallon tank was bowing, and rather than live with the uncertainty of waiting for it to blow, we took it back to the builder (pays to buy locally!) and had a center brace installed. Now all is square and flat, and we sleep more soundly. Happily we discovered all this while cycling, so no fish had to be inconvenienced.
My 30g bows out 3/16" from side to side at the top. I'm not too worried.
You should see how much my 32g acrylic tank bows out. My 30g glass bows out a tiny bit, hardly noticable.
