So, unable to find any olive nerites in the area, I resorted to purchasing a "golden inca snail" from Petco, hoping it would eat the copious algae growing in my tank. I have been a bit disappointed, though it does crawl around and put on a good show.

I need algae eating snails! Ordering them online usually comes with a $20-30 shipping fee. However, I have found a source at applesnail.net who can ship for $15. Maybe I can even negotiate him down. Still, I only need a couple snails and that's a hefty price to pay. Anyone in NYC want to go in on an order?

Probably a guy at applesnail.net who lives in florida and has a ton of local olive nerites. If people want to order from somewhere else though, I could be open to that. I just don't want to pay the whole shipping fee for just a couple snails.

Haha, yeah, olive nerites can live in brackish or freshwater. Not sure about full marine conditions, but you can look into that.
