Hi, just found and started reading these forums. They are great.
I spent a bit of time reading and researching before getting an established tank from a friend of mine complete with water and live rock.
That was about a month ago, and apart from a salinity problem - didnt measure it, thought it was ok, turned out to be 1.033, then screwed up by doing big water change and dropped it instantly to 1.021 and upset the red legged hermits and snails I had put in.
Anyhow, apart from that, I now have 3 happy red legged hermits, 2 happy snails, some leather coral, some mushroom coral and a few hitchhikers that I have yet to be able to describe much less photograph and identify.
One, I think is a snail, tiny little thing, about one centimetre, conical shell and footprint narrow and out both the front and back.
The other - have only seen what looks like tiny ears, hiding under a mushroom coral. Just hope it isnt nibbling.
Tank is a small one - Orca TL450
Hoping to install 2 Bangaii Cardinals, one neon Goby and two clowns. Cardinals this week if I dont do anything else wrong.
Is it ok that my hermits like to crawl over my leather? Or my Turbo snail over my mushroom coral?
Anyway, that's me. Any hints or tips most welcome.
Tara
