Hi I keep trying to plant my tiger lotus bulb in my substrate. it stays under for about a week and then it pops up over it. What am I doing wrong why won't it stay down? Thanks!

really?? my tiger lotus bulb used to always stay down.. Cover it halfway with substrate, eventually roots will develop and allow it to be kept down.

Where in ny are you?

It's been in my tank for 3 weeks. It does have leaves but no roots yet?

bk828: I'm near buffalooh, if it's got leaves then it's alive.... and i'd just find a way to weigh it down, maybe attach a small rock to it with a rubber band or soemthing like that...

I had the same problem, I just planted them a little bit deeper. I believe they recommend 50/50 in/out, I wound up doing 70/30. They are growing like crazy now.

i think if you bury it in the soil and then put a little rock over it should help
