Just thought I'd post it. It's an Eheim Pro 3, brand new over $300. It's for sale for about $99 + $75 shipping. The shipping is extremely excessive, but $175 for a Pro 3 is great. The gamble is that the whole auction seems a little shady, and the thing has a little damage("But the latch stil closes")
I don't want, but somebody might.

 Don't think I'd like to gamble on the "as is" sales pitch for a leaky lg. canister. If it was a 'simple fix', they would have contacted Eheim for replacement parts. Something else is going on here?? By the way, (if this is the same seller) Fish Town USA is about 30min. from me. They have very nice F/W, S/W stock as well as plants. Great for emergency supplies. I've purchased from them a few times w/ satisfaction. Never equipment though, the prices (like most LFS's) are very high even for NYC!!! http://www.fishtown-usa.com/index2.php "T"

:omg: -0- media!! All you get for your 175 bucks is an 'intellegent' can that might not hold water. :silly::silly::silly: "T"

I can be a bit off.. i think its 96 pounds to be sure.. the other 4 pounds is for the actual canister

I've never had a problem with ebay, you just don't buy from shady people. You can usually see right through their ads.
<----been using it before ebay had television commercials.

I only buy from people who were recommended to me by other people. I don't use ebay much anyways.

Ebay has tv commercials??
:perv:
One just has to focus on the main words used in the ad. I mean if the seller is selling an item "as is", it does not mean that the item is brand spanking new and the seller wanted to be ohh sooo generous and drop the price in half so others can enjoy such a great hobby and he knows that you will enjoy the item so much that theres no point to return it..
Idk just have to be very careful, ask questions, if the person seems shady then, just forget about the whole thing and move on...
And if anything pay with a credit card paypal...

Agreed...usually when I see an item description that says "this is sold as is, its untested but should work" I assume the guy tried it, it didn't work, he didn't know why, and is willing to let someone else deal with it through a shady deal. Just have to pay attention to what you're buying. If you're not completely comfortable with the auction, just don't bid...another one of whatever it is will come along.

hmmm, itd be a gamble. if i had the cash, id take it. his feedback is good, plus if you pay via paypla you can your money back if the filter is not as stated in the auction. in other words, there is some protection in the case that the seller does not list the problems of the filter in the auction. with that in mind, i would take it, repair it, and use it for perfect aquarium water.
the seller's feedback is good, i doubt he would rtun an auction on a faulty item.
