After getting various bits of feedback as well as spending time reviewing old posts, I have some photos to share of my 40g work in process. The current inhabitants are:

1 pseudotropheus socolofi
1 psuedotropheus albino
1 labidochromis caereulus
1 labidochromis exasperatus
1 iodotropheus sperengae
1 metriaclima estherae

My lsf is working on getting my a pseudotropheus acei and a labidochromis hongi. I also am working on getting more black slate - I need a lot more rock.

Many thanks to all, especially to Coler, who have given advice and feedback.

I will update with more photos as the new arrivals get here and I add some more rock.

Nice job !

Get a load more rockwork in there - if you're keeping the castle on the left, do a sloping pile/stack of slate from the right down, with plenty of caves and tunnels etc for them to work through.

the blue stripey fellow - that looks more like a Pseudotropheus elongatus to me than a socolofi - socolofi are a powder blue with no bars. still a nice fish though, but may be slightly more aggressive.

My plan was to either do a sloping pile of slate from the castle or use a piece of driftwood to tie things together.

I will also double check with my lsf - the owner was not there when I bought the elongatus. I will update my stock list accordingly and watch for any aggression issues. So far, everyone gets along well, plus I love his coloring.

Thanks for the feedback.
