Awhile back I had a brief discussion with someone (Grins maybe?) about the esthetics of equipment and trying to hide it. I thought maybe we could start a thread to show and discuss some of the various things we've done to hide things. BTW, putting your sump in the basement DOESN'T count! :raspberry:

Since I installed everything (sump, RO/DI, skimmer, etc) inside the bottom of my stand, I still had a ballast box to deal with. It was very unsightly so I decided I needed to hide it. Here's what I did to increase the WAF (mine too)!

In the first series you can see that the setup is right by the front door. We purchased this table which was the perfect size to sit the location where it need to go. A hole saw to drill the vent and electrical holes in back, some black burlap to cover the metal work on the doors, some staples, black marker (to cover the bare wood from drilling), and viola! Hidden equipment.

We were going to buy an upholstered bench with a storage area inside. But I couldn't find one that would fit a good sized water container inside. In the end we decided to extend the stand a bit on one side, but you don't actually think my son has that more than framed do you? I mean gee...he has only been working on the finishing of the stand and canopy for what...11 months or so?

Lets see ...its 1:11AM here, do you think

a)he is tudying late for a college exam
b)on on his XBox talking loudly enough on the headset that I can hear it it on from the floor below?
c)diligently in the garage putting the finishing details on the tank
