DIY - How to sterilize stuff that’s going into the aquarium.

I have got some stuff like large rocks, and a bit of drift wood i collected from the river bank. I want to know how to sterilize them before i put them into the aquarium. will boiling them suffice? the drift wood is waterlogged and is at the bottom of my tub. These will be going into the NEw tank i am building.

you can boil the driftwood but not the rock. try using bleach on it then adding extra prime.

Bleach the rock, rinse it well, let it sit in the sun and dry, then rinse it well again. Drying it will turn everything to salts, which are easily rinsed off.

i would suggest pouring a little bit of vinegar over the rock just to make sure it doesn't have any unsafe minerals in it.if it fizzes then don't use it but if not i think your good
