Okay, trying to do a DIY thing here, and in need of some glass or acrylic panels.
Acrylic would be preferable since I'd imagine it would be easier to cut and drill holes in and whatnot, but I also assume it's more expensive.
Anyways, my question is:
Does anyone know where to get cheap glass or acrylic panels?
Website, store, anywhere.. not in a specific cut size either.

also.. What kind of tool would you need to cut glass anyway?
any and all responses would be helpful.

thankss.
ps- im new to this forum.. so hola to all of you

Hi, Easydoesit.

You can get glass and acrylic at home centers (Lowe's, Home Depot) or at frame shops or hobby and crafts centers (probably more expensive at these). Most towns also have glass shops.

Glass is usually not cut, but instead scored and broken. Glass scorers are inexpensive and can be found at home centers or hardware stores. I've never tried drilling glass, so I can't help you there.

If you don't mind spending a few more dollars, a glass shop will cut and drill your glass for you.

:welcome: to AC.
Acrylic is not easy to cut (it has a habit of shattering) but a lot easier to work with.
I'll let you know how easy glass is to cut after this weekend as i will be cutting some for the first time tomorrow.

A glass cutter looks like this.
