Darn these guys must love my tank? I have lots of nice cave like drift wood.

Today I spot the little fellow on the bottom of an anubis leaf. Call my wife and he swims away darnit. Back to his little house.

GROWN SO MUCH! I didn't even think he was alive. lol

I once had a tank with an upside cat, too. I only saw him once or twice a year but could occassionally see his tail sticking out of the upper part of a cave doorway. I LOVED my upside cat. He was the 'mystery man' of the fish tank.

also make sure when you buy more that you buy an actually upside down cat (S. nigriventris or S. contractus) and not a S. eupterus which is actually a really aggressive synodontis

Compared with some of the other Synos, eupterus is quite mild (I've got one and I love her to death), but yes, they're not group fish like nigriventris, as they do defend hiding places and can look after themselves at feeding time, but they're nowhere near as agressive as my male bristlenose which are considered "peaceful" fish. I named mine "invisicat" as I wouldn't see her for weeks on end in the 4' tank, but she comes out every day now in the 5' tank.

The 2 females are I've got are very placid, but my male bristlenose is an evil-tempered beast at feeding time and quite often at any other time- he's never killed anyone and I don't think he will, but he's aggressive enough to shred fins of corys or Brochis and generally terrorize them- so much so that I moved the trio into a tank of their own, apart from endlers livebearers. He has mellowed a bit now that he's a father though.

Heh I've had this fish for more than a year, this particular one I'm not sure on the exact species to be honest, especially since I've barely seen it.

I was just so surprised to see the little bugger! Thought he had passed on. I had more than one to start, but found a body. He's the last and so cute. Goes well in the tank IMO.

There's a BN in the tank as well. They all were chilling in the same area with my dormitator goby the other night when my wife dropped in some shrimp pellets.

My wife used to have one named "Flip" that always chilled on one leaf. Thought he was well hidden I guess lol! This one prefers the drift wood.
