Does anyone else use this stuff? I bought a small pack for my cories, shrimp and snails but all this thing really does is dirty up my water and turn it green. My snails usually just lug themselves over and sit on top of the wafer so nothing else can get it, which is fine. Since they eat it all up anyway. However, this stuff ALWAYS makes my water turn greenish. Does anyone else have this problem with algae wafers? Am I doing something wrong? I always break these things in half so that I know my little critters will eat it all up.

Is there an alternative food source that I can provide my snails, shrimp and cories? Will blanched veggies work just as good? I'm pretty sure snails and shrimp will eat it, what about the cories? I just don't want that disgusting green water anymore :(...

Corys are mainly carnivorous and would greatly appreciate meaty foods rather than algae wafers.

I have been feeding this food to a number of fish in different tanks for years and have never had a problem with them discoloring the water.

I use the sinking wafers for my cories, and the algae wafers in my snail tank. Veggies will work for the snails. You could try shrimp pellets as well for your cories. The shrimp will eat about anything (flake, veggie, wafers, pellets). I have never noticed it changing the color of the water.

I use them and have not noticed discoloration.

Ugh... this is weird :(.

Maybe it's green water... since my nitrates are almost always at zero... but then, my lighting is super low tech. 15 watt stick over a 20G high. The only time it turns really green is when I add in algae wafers though.
