It's an Aheim 2215

I tried the video and I'm stuck.

Does the hose just fit on the end of the spray bar? No clamps?

What do these do?

How do I prime it?

use that diagram as a starting point. I started out by screwing in the 90 degree fitting for the suction line on the bottom make sure the o-ring is in place (wouldnt hurt to coat all the 0-rings with vaseline or cooking oil to keep em soft) be sure not to screw it in to tight.

Next I cut my suction hose to length you dont want the hose to droop to much or it will kink, but cut it so it hangs freely. I then cut my hose to put the quick connect valves in place for my suction side I put them about 4 inches from the 90 degree elbow as I said before try to keep the hose straight as possible so you dont lose suction.

I cut my pressure side hose (outlet side) slide one end over the spraybar then the other side to my valves the to the fitting at the top of the filter. I would reccomend getting the upgraded spray bar as it looks better and is adjustable.

Once setup and media in place its time to prime I just discconected the valves from the outlet side real quick sucked on the filter end till water started flowing then close the valve hook it back up then your gtg you shouldnt have to worry about a re-prime until you clean it and with this badboy it will be awhile.

The long green pipe is the spray bar/outlet pipe. Get the owners manual, open the 1st page & unfold it so the pictures show. Look at diagram E, it shows the spray bar, a short section of hose about 2" long (cut a piece off the long piece of 12mm hose), the little elbow & then the long piece of green hose. That other green piece with the slot along its length is used to keep the hose from kinking when it goes over the rim of the tank. Its hard to squeeze the hose into the slot, it might help if you run the hose under hot water then insert into the slotted green piece.

I didnt even bother using the slotted piece and if buy the spraybar kit the hose doesnt even need to go into the tank its a straight shot

I got it going. I don't feel a whole lot of suction in the intake hose, but the spray bar is working, so it has to be right.

I find it hard to believe that the hose just attaches to the spray bar with no clamps. That makes me nervous.

To start the prime, I separated the intake valve and locked the one side. I then unlocked it until I saw the water coming, locked it and attached it. I had to do it twice, but that worked.

I can hear water flowing, but that is all. Is that okay?

I can leave it on during water changes?

you can leave it on as long as the water level doesnt drop below the intake during pwcs

is your spraybar above the water level? if so thats probally why you hear water I lrave mine below just a bit so I still get nice agitation at the top of the water.

I cant speak for the 2215 but the 2217 is dead silent cant even tell its on

The instructions were terrible. I'm glad I found that page. It saved me. Google is a wonderful thing.

Finished product with the legs on the lights I installed this morning.

Congratulations on getting the job done!

I think you'll be surprised at how quiet that filter is. And, :topic:, I really envy that piece of driftwood.

Thanks! I'll be able to tell the difference when I take the HOB off the tank in a few weeks.
