How about we share some pics of our refugiums. Here is mine, a 30 gallon acrylic cube that is predominantly planted with a couple of varieties of caulerpa I am trying to get rid of the grape. You can see the ghost shrimp in there as well as the pipefish. The brittle stars and bristle worms were not out when I took the pic.

Ace: how do you like the biobale? How often do you have to clean/change it? and your fuge looks great.

It seems to work good for me. I have read others don't like it too much though. I rinse it out once a month when I change out my Chemi-pure carbon. I just pull it out, stick it in a bucket I filled up with 1/2 way with used water from a water change.. stir it around to clean it a little, and stick it back in. Pretty easy to do.

My fuge isn't nearly as healthy because we're still waiting for a good fan to cool the PC fixture so we can stop using the dorky light we have on it temporarily. It is keeping the maco alive but it isn't thriving.
Ace, I had never even heard of the Bio Bale before but can guess what it is looking at the photo. Looks like I have some research to do.

This was one of my fuges when I was SALT. It was a 15 hanging from the ceiling. I also had a 50 sterilite tub as another . They were connected to my 120 in wall.
Cool, so you had it gravity feed the display?

It's green too. :silly:
I've got cheato, red gracillaria(sp?), a few different caulerpa, a couple of marine plants I got from TBS that I'm not sure what they are, lots of little critters in there - brittle stars, worms, pods, teeny little crabs. It's fascinating to lay in front of and watch!

Thanks, Robbie. The water is high because it's on a 'power off' experiment. It passed! Whew!!!

Aaaahhh...don't know why that didn't occur to me.
Glad you have the GFI's in....I was lucky because of the direction of the wiring I could install one upstream in an accessible place...I didn't have to crawl under my tank.
