hi there i recently changed my water conditioner and it says 5ml per 10 gallons. thats a huge change since my other one was diluted like crazy. anyways i was wondering if too much water conditioner is bad?

NO, but why waste it.

I don't think it's possible either, unless you dump the whole giant bottle in with like a gallon of water only... small "overdoses" are fine. I tend to put in more than I should I think, only because I'm always estimating the amount I should be putting. No harm done :)

In some cases, like with Prime, overdosing is allowed and has specific uses.

yep...Prime x5 dose is advised as an emergency nitrite detox...there are also specified doseage levels to detox ammonia...but I would say follow whatever is written on the back of the bottle. sometimes blindly following instructions is a good thing :D

edit : its not advised but it is a permitted dose as per instructions...say for some reason if you had high nitrite, your fish were dieing and you could not do a water change.

I would fill my tank with Prime if that's what you mean :p:

Seriously though, if you are using too much there isn't any real harm, but the water will foam.
