can you use too much water conditioner?

hi there i recently changed my water conditioner and it says 5ml per 10 gallons. thats a huge change since my other one was diluted like crazy. anyways i was wondering if too much water conditioner is bad?

i agree try to measure it out so you don't waste it.i use a syringe for dosing my tank

Well, the bottle does say, "do not overdose" or something like that, but I always wondered the same thing.

I don't think it's possible either, unless you dump the whole giant bottle in with like a gallon of water only... small "overdoses" are fine. I tend to put in more than I should I think, only because I'm always estimating the amount I should be putting. No harm done

In some cases, like with Prime, overdosing is allowed and has specific uses.

yep...Prime x5 dose is advised as an emergency nitrite detox...there are also specified doseage levels to detox ammonia...but I would say follow whatever is written on the back of the bottle. sometimes blindly following instructions is a good thing

edit : its not advised but it is a permitted dose as per instructions...say for some reason if you had high nitrite, your fish were dieing and you could not do a water change.

Seriously though, if you are using too much there isn't any real harm, but the water will foam.
