The Best Brand 55?

A friend of mine's 55 gallon just started cracking. I'm guessing it's about 10 years old. What is the best brand out there? I think he's going to get 'All Glass' brand, I'm just curious as to what others think is the best brand.

And, what is a reasonable total weight of live rock to put in a 55 gallon? The sand he's using is probably less than most use.

All the major brands should be the same. Oceanic have thicker glass and more silicon on the sides, but any tank should be able to hold just fine. As far as rock amount, you should be fine as long as it isn't all piled on one side. Sand helps to distribute the weight. If anything I'd be more worried about the floorboards themselves.
