well, i finally did it. i purchased my first corals.:grinyes: i am now the proud owner of two small zoanthid colonies (on of which has a BLOOD red feather duster underneath it...very cool), a yellow polyp colony, and a pumping xenia. the guy at my lfs actually gave me one of the zoanthud colonies for free last night just to see if it would be ok, and it immediately opened and has been eating like mad ever since, so i went back today and got the other 3 corals. i'm pretty stoked, and they look great in the tank. (times like this i wish i owned a camera...). the xenia is still not open all the way, but i have faith it will be tomorrow. i also got a horseshoe crab as well...this guy is awesome! looks like something out of jurassic park and he's moving all over the place just stirring up the sand, which is EXACTLY what i wanted him to do. it was either him or a sand sifting star, and he is WAY more entertaining. oh, and i can't forget i also got a large hawaiian feather duster (boy, when i list it all out i sure got a lot. :lipssealedsmilie: ) i'm just excited that my tank is finally at the point where i think the corals will be just fine, and hopefully spread. the fella at the lfs told me that everything i purchased spreads rather quickly, so we'll just have to wait and see. as far as gluing it down...i'm gonna buy the super glue gel tomorrow...do i have to keep them out of the water very long to let it dry?? i don't want to kill them or anything, but i need to get them anchored so the hermits/turbos don't tump them over. and about pics, if i can snag a rich friend's camera i'll try and get some pics up.

Congratulations! Now the fun begins...your eyes get bigger than the tank. Can't wait to see the pics. Isn't it uncanny how adding some life to your tank makes it so exciting. Just a thought, but you might want to think about reef putty..not as permanent a fix as superglue gel will be and then if the corals aren't happy in their spot, you can move them and then fix them down once your sure they are content. That is what I do...except for my RBTA who won't be fixed to any one spot (sorry to bring up the horrific nightmares of your RBTA Grins). Enjoy..it just keeps getting better.
