Baffles in Sump

They all serve a couple of purposes....The single baffles are there to seperate the different compartments of the sump, usually Inlet area, Refugium and Return Section..Also, the other baffle config is a bubble trap..This is usually composed of either two or three sheets of glass, about an inch apart, stanggered.. This is designed to stop bubbles that are generated in the sump, ending up in the return section and being sent off back to the display tank..
