I just set up my 125 tonight and used shims to balance one end of it. It's in my basement and the floor slopes for drainage. The problem is I filled it and found my trusty level was not so trusty. I'm still off with the northwest corner of the tank being about an eighth of an inch short of the top and the southeast corner almost a full inch. I'm not so much worried about people seeing the difference because if I fill it a little more it won't be that noticeable. What worries me is the extra pressure on that corner. Is it going to be a problem or is that not enough to make a difference?

My paranoia took hold and I decided to empty the tank. I'm going to look for a bigger board tomorrow, something that will get it right.

I've decided I need to raise it about two inches. Is it safe just to place a board under the far end?

this tank will weigh over 1000 lbs when stocked,If my tank was out a 1/4 of an inch, that would bother me.How much pressure is on the glass? Its hard to tell,be careful with the shims, they should run the entire length of the stand,or does yours sit on feet?

1/8" to a full inch is a fairly wide variation. As stated above, 1000lbs. of water needs to be distributed as evenly as possible. Use another level along w/ 'trusty' & measure at several stages. M/T, 1/4 full, 1/2 full, 3/4 full & full. Make adjustments w/ shims as necessary. You need to be as close to center [-0-] as possible. "T"

you can also put some styrofoam under the tank to help level it out.

Thanks for the input. I did get it level with some wood and shims. It was a lot of work, but well worth it. The tank is set up now and looking good so far.
