Hey guys...I'm kind of starting over with my aquariums. The food I have is almost gone, and I am wondering if any of you have preferences about fish food. It's just a freshwater community setup. Right now I am feeding the basic Tetra tropical fish flakes, and occasionally some freeze dried blood worms.

What is best?

I use New Life Spectrum community fish formula (1mm pellets). I have clown loaches, bolivian rams, neons, tetras, and mollies and they all seem to love it. Occasionally I give them frozen blood worms as a treat, maybe once a week or so. The loaches get live snails from my 10g a few times a week too. I get the Spectrum off of ebay.com, btw.

Omega regular and veggie flakes, sinking algae wafers, frozen brine shrimp, shrimp pellets, cucummber's...switching off through out the week..:)

i feed hikari algae wafers, tetracolor crisps, veggies, hikari sinking pellets, hikari crab cuisine (for the shrimp), hikari frozen bloodworms.

New Life Spectrum is at the top, hikari is going to be the best you can find in most stores. for the best nutrition feed a varied diet, like a combo of NLS flakes/pellets and hikari frozen foods

I feed:

Hikari: Micro Pellets, Micro Wafers, Sinking Wafers, Algae Wafers, Frozen Spirulina Brine Shrimp, Frozen Blood Worms, Frozen Daphnia, Frozen Tubifex, Frozen Baby Brine Shrimp, Frozen Mysis Shrimp.

Omega One: Shrimp Pellets, Veggie Rounds, Floating Color Pellets

HBH: Super Soft w/ Spirulina, Super Soft w/ Krill

TetraMin: Tropical Crisps

Fresh Food: Sweet Potato, Zucchini, Spinich, Mushroom

So how do you manage what gets fed when?

AQUADINE food is the best by far. Give them this and you'll notice they'll never like anything else.

I use:

Wardley's Shrimp Pellets

Tetra Tropical Flakes

Hikari Algae Wafers

Aquadine

By far the Hikari Algae Wafers and Aquadine are the best. I may continue to purchase flake, but I will not continue to purchase the shrimp pellets. Most of my fish prefer the algae wafers and aquadine. Only my hatchet fish is dependent on the flake food.
