A few months ago, I rescued a few fish from one of my daughters (long story). Among them were 2 lovely gold Angels. They have been living in my 55 gallon planted tank since, with no issues till recently. The larger of the 2 Angels has been getting picked on by one my yo-yo loaches. And I was worried about putting them in the tank with the barbs, which have been no problem. The poor Angel is so harassed he won't come up and eat, and I noticed there is a patch on his gill area on one side that looks like the scales have been rubbed off. I took him out of the big tank and put him in my little hospital/quarrantine tank, but he just doesn't look good right now. He's definitely thin, but I hope getting him out of range of that loach will get him eating again. Is there anything else I can or should do for him? In a few months, when we finish the room upstairs, those 2 Angels are getting their own tank, but I just have nowhere to put it now.
