I was thinking about buying the bak-pak 2 protein skimmer. It comes in 2 versions. One with a biological chamber that utilizes CPR's Bio-Bale biological filter media to provide maximum surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize.
The other version is "reef safe" and doesnt include the biological chamber.
My question is: Why would you not want a bio-chamber in a reef aquarium?
