hey guys. i think this question was asked a while ago...but i can't find the thread. ovet the past couple of weeks or so i've noticed some snails in my tank that i must have gotten as hitchhikers. they're about the size and shape of a small press-on nail, and beige in color. the snail's body doesn't really fit under the shell. sorry i can't post a pic, no camera. any ideas?

Sounds like a stomatella or maybe a limpet

thanks guys! yes, it is most definitely a stomatella after looking at the pics that leocom posted the link for (thanks for that, by the way). i've discovered that i have about 5 or so of them in the tank. it's amazing what we get for free in this hobby!

Expect them to multiply and provide you with lots of clean up crew...and shrimp snacks if yours are anything like mine.
