I have purchased Plagiomnium Trichomanes, fissidens splachnobryoides and Plagiomium Trichomanes..... Anyone got any ideas on the best planting method....

All meant to be good for carpeting but I'm now not so sure.....

Some of the websites I have been on say they aren't even aquatic so I am now confused......

Plagiomnium Trichomanes, <<may not be aquatic - I'd tie some to a high spot where it can go emergent pretty quickly and see how it does - APC has a thread or two on this plant including some posts of mine referring to a bryophyte expert's opinions.

fissidens splachnobryoides <<just tie it to something, give it at least moderate if not full light (I'm assuming it's similar to other fissidens species here).

Don't hold your breath waiting for either to take off, they aren't very fast growers (if memory serves)

I hope your Plagiomnium looks like the pictures in the APC threads - very pretty plant.
