so i just got back from a holiday today to find my eibli angelfish dead, my sand sifting goby dead and my bangaii alive but has fin and tali rot pretty bad, his one fin is almost gone, but my watchman is fine. at the lfs they sell a product called E.M. Erythromycin, think this would help?????? any other advice would be great

my tanks been running for almost a year now. the angelfish and goby had open red sores as well as eroding fins and tails. i think i lost my bangaii last night since i cant see him anywhere but my watchmna goby still seems to be doing ok. what should i use to treat the tank if i have to or what can i do to prevent this from happening again??

Is it possible to move the remaining fish to a QT tank? I am pretty sure your tank parameters are off the charts right now with all the live stock death. I also would avoid dosing the medicine directly in the display tank. While I am not too familiar with the medicine for fin rot, I do know some of the best things you can do for your remaining live stock is keep clean water and dose their food with fresh garlic extract to keep up their immune system.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your fish. Marine fin rot is actually fairly unusual in marine tanks. Usually fish die from something else before they come down with fin rot since its a secondary symptom of some other disease.

thanks. it might be difficult to catch the watchman goby because he is rarely completly out from under the live rock. but ill try when i feed him tomorow. it there anything thing i should do to the main tank?? i have about 5 snails and 6 hermits. also theres quite a lot of cyano bacteria all over the LR. imgoin to move the powerheads around next time i do a water change to increase the flow around the rock but is this the only cure for cyano???

is there anything i should do to the tank to avoid this happening again?
