Hi. try encyclopedia of aquarium plants by peter hiscock 
. There are plenty of diagrams in the book and aside from types of plants and their requirements it talks about macronutrients, micronutrients, Lighting, the nitrogen cycle inside tanks, and etc. Its a very informative book.

The high level people here should write books, lol. The 50,000 gallon tank on Monster Aquarium was amazing!
