How do you tell the difference between a male and female Juliodochromis transcriptus? Is there a way?

Also, how long do these fish live?

Sexing J. transcriptus??? Get 4-6, give them time, and see who pairs up. I've seen it written that females are larger than males, but I've seen that's a myth and really they're about the same size.

Time is your ally. And, I think they live to 5-7 years or so.

It is hard to sex julis. In general most female Julis are larger, but not always. Female genital papilla are longer.
