:help: i am looking for a stand for my hex tank and a hood ..If anyone has one fairly cheap I would be interested .,.I live in ohio and everywhere i look they are way to much for my wallet.I would like to get my tank set up instead of it just sitting in a corner all alone and taking up space please let me know ...tank 001.jpg the height of the tank 24-7/8

tank 002.jpg top of the tank measures 18-7/8

The guy who gave it to me says it is 30 gallon it looks more to me is a 20 gallon

The hood size I need according to the pet store is 19-1/8..

hi- stumbled on your thread by accident. i can offer a few tips. i have a 10 gallon hex myself and this is how i configured it.
for the hood, measure the dimensions exactly for a plane of glass to fit across the midsection( following the 2nd picture, a rectangular plane of glass from the front to the back)- forget the two triangles on the sides (im looking at the 2nd picture). 1/4" thick glass is perfect. one plane of glass in a rectangle shape should do the trick, just be certain your measurements are accurate.

as for the stand, you can make a diy one out of plywood and cinder blocks. if looks matter, you could paint the blocks and wood and decorate with a potted plant on a shelf beneath the tank or something. its cheap and easy with a little imagination! or if you have a hand saw and the will to build a rustic stand, you could use some 2x4s and build a stand with wood blue, wood putty, wood screws, a hand or circular saw and a screwdriver.

hope this all helps you!
