in my fowlr tank, i've noticed a recent increase in the number of what seem to be scypha sponges. they look just like this...

there are about 50 of them that i can see. they're on the live rock, and some of them are also starting to grow on the glass...(shows you how often i clean the back glass...:lipssealedsmilie:). i'm pretty positive they're harmless, maybe even good, but i just wanted to make sure that they wouldn't become a problem. thanks in advance.

You may find that their numbers decrease as your tank matures, that has been my experience.

sweet. thanks guys. i figured they were inert, but i just wanted to make sure. i just know that sometimes someting i think is harmless turns out to be something i want out of the tank...didn't want this to be one of those cases.
