i was wondering how long it takes to tell if your eggs are fertile like actually alive? ive hearrd 24hours after they spawn is that true?

Give the eggs 12-24 hours. Usually by a few hours, I had observed some eggs going white when I bred angelfish. What fish are we dealing with?

my jellybean pair. its almost been 36hours since they layed but some are still going white?

Did you treat the egg's with some type of antifungal agent (maraxoy, methal blue or hydrogen peroxide, etc...)? White eggs are either infertile or have gotten fungus. Also, are you sure you have a male and a female? Most Chiclid eggs will hatch within 2 to 3 days depending on temp.

I'd say that the tannish ones are fertile, and the white ones are fungussed or weren't fertilized.

yea i think the same i know i had a female lay eggs in my 55g 2years ago and the egs were not fertile and they all turned white basically all at the same time. i jsut hope they are fertile!

well this is day 3 and they are now wiggling like crazy and momma is just scooping them up and throws em rite back in the main nest. the male is getting pretty agressive now! hes actually hitting the glass when i get near the tank telling me to get away!
