coralife ro/di

I actually used one when they first came out as an experiment, and they are not good quality. The resin that comes with the thing is terrible--it actually is a softening resin, exchanging sodium for other ions, giving you a perpetual 5 ppm TDS of sodium. The hose attachment is also aggravating. I recommend you look into the units found at www.airwaterice.com, www.purelyh2o.com, www.thefilterguys.biz, www.melevsreef.com, among others.

I have one,works fine here.

that price in the link you posted is crazy.I paid about half that for the one I have new in the box,had the lps order it for me (they use the same exact unit in store, and have for years)

I would have to agree totally! their terrible! We also have units starting at $170

I have one too and haven't had any problems. If the DI resin is poor, you should be able to buy a different 10" DI insert instead. I got mine from Thatpetplace. I believe is was about 150.00. I had a 30% off deal and got it for about 110.00. Have used it since January and my diatom issue started to subside quickly.

i am extremely confused on what you paid $110 for. a DI filter is around $25 and the add-on kit is around $40. can u explain what u bought please.

i think he's talking about the unit as a whole...but this **** thing confuses me i want a name brand one i notcie that there are several around seems like a bunch of imitators are out there and prices fluctuate...i just want a name brand thats gunna be around for along time smell me? suggestions?

well i can tell you that our unit has been built of only the highest quality products. the housings have the seals on a ledge inside and has the upper cap screw into the seal, resulting in the a better seal with less force, resulting in a longer lasting seal. The fittings are all John Guest and the filters are all quality filters 1micro prefilter and 1 micro carbon and the DI is flow pure. The membranes are Filmtec which are one of the top membranes on the market today. We have built this unit because i personaly have fixed and seen many units that were off ebay and other suppliers and we terribly made. We are trying to provide the highest quality product for a little less, helping out our fellow hobbies
