An angelfish in a 5 gallon is already a problem - these things do readily grow to five inches long and eight or more in depth.

Remove the Angel, then get some snails or shrimp...that's about all you can get in a 5g tank.

agree. a 5 is way too small for an Angel.

you will need atleast a 20 for a single angel(preferrably a 20 tall).

I agree, 20 gallons is the minimum for one angel. They get wayy too large for a 5 gallon. The only fish I think would be appropriate for a 5 gallon would be a betta. They have long flowing fins like angels, you would be much better off getting rid of the angel and getting 1 betta instead, or do snails and shrimp as BoredAgain suggested.

Other fish one can do in a 5.5 besides a betta would be a couple of killies, a few celestial pearl danios or even 3 small corys such as panda or pygmy.

Perhaps 4-5 male endlers and a couple amano shrimp with some live plants?
(this is not intended to condone keeping these WITH an angel... as others have stated, the angel cannot stay in that tank)

I echo the statements above. There are options - some already listed above for a 5G tank - but my Angles are all over 8" around after only 8 months!

A 5G tank is approx 15x8x10...

you should do a small school of neons and some cherry shrimp, with some plants, it will look great!

I just moved my angel to a 50g cause he outgrew his 25g.

a medium angel in a 5 gallon will result in uncontrolable parameters...you need to get it out ASAP

A 29g is the smallest i would do for a show tank I use 20H for breeding pairs a 5g is only good for what the others have suggested.

The angel needs to be out of that tank ASAP

you could do a pair of shell dwellers which are vary enjoyable to keep.:headbang2:

The only time angels should be in a 5 gallon tank is when hatching a spawn. After 2-3 weeks they need to be moved to a larger tank. Your angel is older than 2-3 weeks, time for a larger tank, probably long overdue.

Save the money you planned on using for any tankmates, and spring for a 29.

A 5g is no place for an angel, i would get a 29g tank for your angel and keep your 5g as a qt tank or just re-home your angel.

hmmm....crazy suggestion and just the one post...I would wait until the OP posts back or alternatively deny this thread any more food until it dies.

She's been in chat a few times, so I don't think its a troll...just give her a chance to get back to the thread and read the ideas, I think the point has been made regardless.
