I have a cucumber that came with my set up "package". Never fear...he is not the toxic gut kind. I also have a friend of his (maybe a "special" friend) who hitchhiked into the tank.

Tonight I found them wrapped in each other's...uh...well each other. So I go to do some research...here is the cool article I found:

Not only might they be mating, but who knows, one of them may have a fish up it's rear. Fascinating.

And kind of gross.

Question regarding sea cucumber poo. If sea cucumbers are so great for cleaning up other's "poo" in the tank...what happens to their poo...isn't it equally as bad for the tank?

To learn more about sea cucumbers follow this link (video is graphic in a "poo" way): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsLBOkYLLeI

or this one

Lol.. I like the sea hare better.. it's got a gaping one lol

Good grief that fish is really scary looking!

any chance of a pic of this? so intriguing...

They only occur in the really big cukes ...which are about 3in diameter and 1.5 foot long...I collected some for the BBC years ago....sent them 20 cukes from way offshore.....they ended up with one pearlfish..

I have no pearlfish so no pics to offer. Just read about them last night while researching how to care for my guys. I believe that they are in love. They snuggle. It's cute.
