My water wisteria appears to be losing all its old growth and sprouting completely new leaves. The new ones look beautiful and healthy, the old ones look like they're decaying away.

First, would it help the plant if I trim off the dead/dying leaves? Second, is a melting plant adding a lot of bio-load to my tank?

itll fall out on its own, you could pull off some rotting leaves gently. I dont think its adding much to yuor bioload, it disentegrates and gets used by other plants

i would cut or pull of the dead plant material as it will promote new growth
