IM a little worried about them goby's ,they bunkered down real fast ,hubby and i will have to go in and be sure we dont have a cave in ,lol
They are so cute .........do they come out at night?
i got shrimp pellets to put in for them if their isnt enough food .
The brittle star is ewe creepy and huge ,im hoping it will clean up the shrimp mess from the clowns !

brnish black i think .................. honestly it gave me the creeps im glad it went into hiding lol .
when we check the rock on weekend i will take a pic of it lol
i told the guy a reef safe star lol
Brown/black is fine, they stay small and stay hidden 99.9% of the time. It will be GREAT for cleaning up any shrimp the clowns tossed out the anemone, perfect job for it. You will normally see just the tip of one or two arms coming out of the rocks most of the time. At night you may see it adventure out.

funny you say that lol it is huge and just scaled up the back of the tAnk just as my daughter sat in the chair .....she ran and hid behind me too funny
i got a good look it kinda looks redish brn .
hey this is FUN! one of the goby's comes out all the time , the other one is hidden .
Yes i thaught about turbo but took me a few days to realize i needed to adjust my cleaning crew,i will probaby need another star maybe 2 ,but i dont think i need anymore crabs or snails for a while now ,i will wait and see a month now see if i need more .
the clowns dont harass the goby they follow him and try and get food of his remains ,but they bugged the star lol
i shut out the white light and the star is in full view ,THIS IS COOL!
its orange goby with neon blue stripes on face .
We wont be sleeping earily tonight lol

Why not green?
This is my neighbors green 2 years ago, around 12".. now, tip to tip is around 18-20" and center is bigger than a silver doller. Eats entire cubes of frozen food in a matter of minutes. They don't call it the "green monster" for nothing.

thats about the size of ours .
and i have a really bad feeling about it ,i think its stalking my cleaner shrimp.
its hanging out by the anemone so maybe its just waiting for scraps lol
It isnt hiding like everyone says .....its right out in the open ,should i be worried?
Ya, I would be, that is a good sign it is aggressive and will probably eat your cleaner shrimp within the week. To me, that is way to big for a brittle star in a tank that size, but that's just me.. obviously it can be done because my neighbors tank is only 75G. Just keep an eye on it for now.. usually they only go after food and dead things like crabs/snails. If it is as big as you say, I would feed it at least 1/2 a cube of food a week so it doesn't go looking for food. If you put a piece of frozen food in your hand near it, the star will crawl right onto your hand and eat it. It is actually really cool and not as scary as it sounds. They don't bite.

Im worried now , the star went into the goby bunker ,im so stressed out .
Do you feed it still frozen or do you wait to thaw it out ,hard to keep in hand thawed

Ya, I give it to them frozen.. they will just hold it in their mouth and munch away on it like a popsicle. ;)

Just give it a whole cube then.. lol. It will eat it. Just wont have to feed it for at least a week. Do you have a grabby stick thing you can hold the cube in to feed it?

my frogspawn lost another head so i was thinking something is bothering it .
I watched the tank tonight and noticed red bristle worms(?)eating holes in the stalk ?
after we arrange the rock and change the skimmer ,im gonna make a trap with a bottle and try and get them ,i will try not to feed the tank for 1 day b4 i do this .
does that sound like a good plan?

Why not green?
The green stars, ophiarachna, are very predatory, and of sufficient size, will easily take out a fish.....

I am frustrated today ,I HATE MY SKIMMER ,it makes too much noise and the water always looks dirty, and the pump has no shut off switch and has burnt all the plugs on my powerbar from either shutting off the powerbar or pulling the plug .
then i tried to hook up the berlin the pump i have wont fit without attachments grrrr .
Then to top it off my return pump was vibrating against the glass and when i went to adjust guess what .................yup water pumping all over me the floor and the carpet
Today just isnt my day !!!!!!
why do they make so much noise ?
They don't all make a lot of noise. The crappy Prizm that came with my set-up sure did but my Tunze doesn't.

Wow! I've got a red with black stripes one. Is it going to get that huge? I've it a year now and I has double in size already. I only ever see its arms though.
Waiting by the anemone, careful! lol. I had a brittle star, all black, come in as a hitcher. My first real marine aquatic life. Then about six months later, wife comes in to check on the anemone, turns out light, brittle star makes a dash, right into the LT and that was that. I was so sad, wife enjoyed the show regarding how cool it was. She told me to cheer up and that it was nature. My friend knew I was so sad about that loss, that she caught a brittle star for me down in Izu. Thats the red and black I mentioned earlier.

Thank you .
one more thing..i have noticed that my corals like eating the flakes (spectrum optimum fresh h2o flakes)
and the shrimp pellet formula.
is this normal and ok?
is their harm in feeding my suncoral the shrimp pellet formula?
they just seem to like it ,when i drop them in for the goby's they all wake up .
Would it be ok to also drop a few into the bubble? i notice they grab for them too.
just woundering
