CO2 seems to have turned my water cloudy?

I have just installed a DIY CO2 system in my tank, and the water seems to have become cloudy. Some of my fish are acting very hyper, swimming around like mad. Has anyone else had a reaction like this?

I used a single 2L soda bottle, rinsed thoroughly. 3 cups water, 2 cups sugar, 1/4 tbsp. baking soda, 1 1/4 tbsp. yeast.

Sorry I was a bit hasty in making my post and I left out some information.

I am using a check valve on my tube (just fyi, I know it won't stop stuff from going up into the tank). I do not think that any of the mixture has gotten from the reactor into the tank, as there is no residue above the water line in the reactor.

The tank is 29 gallons, and has been up since March 1. PH is about 7.6, nitrites/ammonia at 0, nitrates between 0 and 5 (can't really tell), using API drop test kit.

What recipe would you recommend Bk? I found this one on APC, but I was surprised at how quickly I saw bubbles, within 10 minutes, while some people said it could take a few hours to a day before I saw bubbles.

I guess I'm going to do a water change now just to be safe.

not really sure why you have a cloudy tank then. When you say reactor do you mean gas separator?? or one of those red sea reactors??

If you dont have a gas separator and worry about the yeast getting into the tank then i would get one.

Your tank has been up for a while now so i rule out a cycle. Have you moved anything in the tank that picked up some of the dirt??

As i said before do some water changes and see if it helps.

For the mix in a 2L i would use
5-6 cups of water
1/4 teaspoon of yeast (hydrated)
1.5-2 cups of sugar
1 teaspoon of baking soda

oh and btw how long do you keep your lights on?? whats the wattage??

My photoperiod is 9 hours of 65w pc lighting.

By reactor I meant the 2L bottle. I have seen some plans online to create a DIY gas separator out of a smaller bottle, so I may just pour this one out and restart with your recipe and a gas separator. Thanks for the help.

My fish seem to be doing ok.

I think the problem was I misread my recipe for the yeast mixture as BK suspected and pointed out it seemed my ingredients were too much.

Made a new batch and everything seems to be normal so far. Thanks.
