Sorry to be no help on the ID but congratulations!! What a beautiful hitchhiker.

thats a nice hitch.agreed on the clove polyps

oooo pretty! Lucky! I'm jealous. My hitchhikers have only been feather dusters, a few rock anemones, some bland cup corals and a pistol shrimp I've never seen, but I'm pretty sure my diamond goby has taken up with him.

What kind of fish is that in your avatar? It's gorgeous!

For awhile there were mysterious broken rocks showing up in the mornings, I thought I had a pistol or a mantis. Everyone said I'd hear it but I sleep through Oklahoma thunderstorms and tornadoes, so clickin' ain't gonna wake me up ;) I wouldn't be surprised to find a pistol shrimp though, I would think a mantis would make himself more known by now.

It's my lionfish. He's pretty but he's annoying me. He spits water at me when he's hungry now... Still looking for the culprit that taught him that.

THAT is hilarious! I've heard of fish learning to do that! It sounds cute, but I can see how it would get annoying. :)
