I was wanting to get something new for my tank. Either a starfish or urchin. Was not sure what would be better for my tank, its a 40g fowler, no sump or fug, 40lbs live rock. I was looking at a tuxedo uchin today at the lfs as well as some brittle starfish. I would rather have the urchin but have heard that they are not good additions to tanks because they eat so much alge. Anyway ant input would be great.

i have an urchin in my 40 gal. he does great - eats correline algae though. also you have to have a stable tock formation or he will knock it over

If you are getting an urchin, the tuxedo would be my choice. They aren't as "bulldozer" like as others and you are less likely to get pricked by long spines.

you could always get a sandsifting star but you'll never see it
