I swear, if anyone is looking to breed cichlids...all you need are other cichlids. 
Here's the story: These two cichlids below (V. zonatus and a Flowerhorn) were being sold because they were misbehaving...and I'm not really a cichlid guy anyway.
So I put them in one of my grow-out tanks and about 2 days later I came home to this:
This is the male Flowerhorn (PetSmart Trimac :lipssealedsmilie:
This is the female Veijia zonatus (pic from original tank):
