i just finished building the frame for my 75g tank stand and i want to paint it black what kind of wood should i skin it with ?

If you're going to paint it, just use a pine plywood with one finished side. Any thickness will do.

Whatcha plan on painting it with? The first thing that springs to mind is if you are painting it use the dirt cheapest wood you can find that satisfies the structural requirements. Why spend money on beautiful grain patterns if you plan on covering it? MDF may be the way to go.
I used MDF on my last stand build....the main thing is, the coverings dont supply the strength....so, they can be as light or thick/heavy as you like...
yeah im gonna use 1/4 maybe md.f i just wanna paint it simple black ill try to post up pics later of the build
