RecommendationsI'd like to do a cichlid tank. Aside from apistos what can I do? Can I keep rams and apistos together?
Keep either rams or apistos. You can't have both once they spawn.

there really isnt enough room in a 20 gallon for the territories of both anyway.
One pair of convicts or firemouths.

Shellies, rams, or apistos.
Definitely do not do cons unless you can commit to more tanks for fry or can sell them quickly. A 20 is still pushing it space wise as well.

Shelldwellers from Lake Tanganyika, a rift lake in Africa. Look at cichlid-forum.com's species profiles...under the Lamprologines (sp?)
