I have a asian dragon decoration for the goldfish tank, it has an air stone in its mouth, I would like to add a timer to the decoration to make the bubbles come out in few second intervals?
possible?

Well you can and a timer to the air pimp, but that would be on off that may not be what you want. Not sure if they make inexpensive ones in that small of a timed cycle though.

Another option is just to throttle it way back with a gang valve.

Just get a valve that only activates with a certain amount of pressure build up. Like the ones on the plastic decorations that release big bubbles but only in a certain interval. You could possibly just buy one of those and just take all the inner workings out and just plug it into your airstone.

If there's a hollow spot in the dec. where air can build up, then release (something has to move to allow this) - that's a good way, otherwise the same effect may be doable w/ a very fine diffuser (wood or scintered glass type commonly used for CO2), maybe w/ a 2-3 foot long section of some wider bore silastic (stretchy) tubing between the pump and the diffuser, you would get build-up, release cycling.
