I have a 75 gallon low light planted tank that has only been up for a few months. Within the last several days there has been a series of small patches forming on some of the rocks and driftwood that are bright green (almost artificially bright and green). I have tried a few online searches but am not quite sure what type of algae this is. Ammonia & nitrites at 0, nitrates at ~5.
The obvious follow-up question is: how do I best get rid of it? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Lights are just 2 40 watt fluorescents, on a timer for 12 hours per day. I kept up the image searches and appear to have a cyanobacteria problem, not algae. Rather unfortunate. Guess I'll try the 4 day blackout plan that seems to be so popular. Thanks again.
