I have noticed my temp is always way too high ,last night i saw it was at 81 and climbing ,we unplugged the heater and i put some top off in without heating slowly and shut off the lights .
After about 4 hours it went down to 79 ,i needed to go to bed and didnt want to chance it going too low so i plugged the heater in and put it at 75 .........got up this morning at 11 and the temp was at almost 82 .i shut off the lights and unplugged the heater .
My lighting is corallife 2x10,000 65 watts 2x actenic 65 watts.
heater is jager 250w
thermoter is outside on glass

120+lbs LR
2 clowns xl anemone ,pink bubble,
2 golby's ,many other corals
just a couple other problems , this week we have a bad growth of green on our overflow ,just out of nowhere ,we plan to lower water today and scrape it all off .
The sump ,it stinks and flakes and food have found there way in there ,we are also going to empty and clean that too .
how can we prevent these things from happening in the future ?
How long do out lights need to be on everyday ?
im going to keep lighs off for the time being untill we fix these problems .
maybe just 3 hours at a time ,we have to check lights to be sure the fans are working .
