I started back in dec with 5 scarlet hermits and 5 astr snails Im down to 3 hermits now?

How long do they live my goby was trying to eat 1 I think the hermit was molting and the goby got to him.

Are the blue legs any good or red legs the scarlets have not bothered a thing

well if hermits suck what are good snails to get for a 12 gallon?

I have 5 astr snails and I do not need sand sifting ones my golby takes care of that?

What exactly is wrong with hermits??? i really never get this discussion that hermits are bad...Yes, the odd one goes rogue, but, that happens with anything in the marine tank. Does that mean they are "all" just as bad? No, it does not....Its a hugely documented fact that these are reef safe.....

For instance, person A and person B both go out and buys a Coral Beauty...Person A experiences coral nipping, person B does not....Does this mean that person B should say...."Woah, thats not good, imma gonna take mine back just in case"??.... No, absolutly not....People have different experiences with inhabitants...But, the same label should not be given to every specific individual's purchase.....

Oh well, just my 2 pence worth....i'll shut up now...

I have tons of hermits scarlets, blue legs, dwarf whites, and other misc crabs. there a great CUC i've never seen them do anything bad towards the tank they pick up any debris left over from the messy eaters specialy the over zealous tang who takes out the clip they mow over the lettuce and algea. just make sure you have empty shells for them to relocate or you'll have problems. and your goby is prolly just moving the shells around anytime mine get to close to his "cove" he moves them out of the way which is hilarious to watch.
