So this weekend I tried to cut my large Green Hairy Mushroom but to no avail. Once I started touching it it curled right up. The base or stalk of the mushroom extended so wide that once it shrunk up, I could even tell where all the stalk was. I gave it a shot and started cutting the base of the stalk with a razor and it was just impossible to see what exactly I was cutting and it started to smell. :wall: So I left it at that and returned it back to the tank. Needless to say I feel absolutely horrible for having cut it without making a full brake from the rock (the shape of the rock is so awkward to that that made it hard to cut as well). It's back in the tank but still all closed up (no wonder it's probably in shock). Anyone else ever had this problem? The mushroom is about 5 inches in diameter so I figured I could get at least four small pieces from that, but it looks like it's going to have to stay as is (assuming it rejuvinates).
