I have a jeweled headed shrimp goby i forget the real name of it...but he doesn't sift the sand could i put another type in there?

how big is your tank?

I know a lot of people on here have multiple gobies. I think the only problem that can really arise is when you have two of the same species that aren't a pair. I have several different gobies. If the tank is big enough, go for it. :)

Problems arise when you have goby's that are similar in body shape and habitat location in the tank. Would you be able to do some online research and find what goby you have now in the tank? That way people can recommend other gobies.

What other fish do you have in the tank? Are you wanting a certain goby?
If you have enough bioload left over and a closed top you could place a purple or red firefish goby in the tank. They are shy fish, but very pretty.

I have a diamond watchman sand sifter goby, about 4in. He plows the sand all day long, keeps the sand white all the time. Only bad part about sand sifter gobies is they deplete the sand bed of pods. If not keeping a mandarin, or other pod eating fish, I recommend this one. Yellow sleeper gobies will sift the sand but they tend to sift then swim up and release the sand...leaving your corals sandy. My two cents...
