Hi, I've been looking for cheap methods of buying aquarium tanks. I've been looking for 10 gallon, 30 gallons, 55 gallons, and 90 gallons. Do you have any idea, How I may buy these tanks for a low reasonable price?

people on here will most likely say "classifieds, classifieds, classifieds!"

that's probably your best bet for cheap tanks. another way you can save big bucks is through do-it-yourself lighting and DIY stand construction. think about it, the aquarium stands usually cost more than the tanks, and it seems like such a waste of money since it doesn't do much of anything for the fish!

I am pretty good at woodworking, I can construct stands that are sturdy and nice, the lighting part, well I wanted to buy a hood for that, but I'll guess I'll have to learn that, but the Classified, only happens once in a while for the area you live in.

if youre good at woodworking you can buy shoplights at homedepot or loews and construct a decent canopy over them. would save you a ton of money if you want planted tanks, and it would look nice.

Best way to get cheap tanks is to just ask everyone!! I'd say about 90% of people have owned fish at one point in their life and now have empty tanks sitting in their basement. I got a 23, a 20, a 10 and 4.5 gallon tanks for free just by asking around. Only one game with a stand unfortunately, others were lacking heaters, pumps, etc.. but it's still cheaper than buying them new from the store. My best deal though was a fully equipped 30 gallon for $125 that I found through classifieds. Go online though, as papers usually only have 1 or 2 tanks for sale a month.
