Does anyone know of a freshwaer shrimp that looks like an amano shrimp? My lfs store sold me 2 as amano and now there are 3 in my tank unless it hitchhiked in on a plantwhich is unlikely in my situation I think these shrimp have reproduced and only one survived as it is smaller than the other 2. Also one of the 2 large ones is berried the tank is 29 gal community with a large piece of driftwood with lots of hiding paces and some plants but I could see how only one could surive as I have swordtails cory cats and 2 small angel fish. Am I crazy to think these are someother kind of shrimp other than amano? they look like the pictures of amano that I have seen but the third one is quite the mystery? I am sorry i do not have a way of putting a picture of them on here for true id?

Ok first, sorry to sound mean but you have to learn to put a period after a sentence, IT took me five minutes to decipher your question. It is very unlikely that those amanos gave birth because they need brackish water to hatch the eggs. Either the lfs gave you an extra amano, or you have a ghost shrimp in there.

If you have lots of hiding places and/or some dense plants (mosses, ground cover), and the shrimp in question are most any of the Neocaradina species, you may eventually notice some new shrimp. If you never see any new ones, either they're Amanos or the fish are getting the fry due to lack of cover.
Amanos will breed & berry up, but nothing comes of it unless you go out of your way to see the pregnancy through (involved, difficult).
